Base Outfitters & Range is a full-service gun and range pro store. We have 8 lanes of shooting, complete with a full staff of certified NRA Range of Safety officers. A full inventory of firearms, ammunition, and accessories. A series of ever-expanding shooting classes led by experienced instructors. Meeting rooms for your special events, along with the ability to structure any group package so that it meets your group needs. Base Outfitters & Range is the go-to place for every type of shooter.

The range lanes are 50 yards and 25 yards in length, with automated targets and bench-rest style shooting lanes. Personal safety is of the utmost importance throughout our entire facility. Pistol/Handgun, long gun rentals are available 5 days a week. Fully automatic firearms will be added in the coming months, We have both factory ammunition and range ammunition for all of your needs. We allow .223, 7.62 and 300 blackout calibers on our range, provided that you use our frangible ammunition. You can also use your magazines! We allow shotguns and AR-style firearms anytime. For safety reasons, we do not allow steel/shot ammunition.

Our prospects are to have a good assortment of fully automatic rentals for your shooting enjoyment. Calibers are currently available in .32 through 40 mm, along with .223 and AK-47. Each time a fully automatic firearm is rented, it is accompanied by a Range Safety Officer so that the shooting experience will be enjoyable and safe. You do have to be 18 years of age or older to rent the fully automatic weapons, but you do not have to have any experience because of the great care our Range Safety Officers exercise when helping you shoot. Shooters who are unaccompanied by friends or family are not allowed to rent firearms in our facility due to personal safety reasons. We take pride in being a family – friendly, clean and moral environment geared toward individuals who want to simply enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. We have many special events and promotions so that everyone can enjoy the range experience. If you would like us to put together a special event for your group, small or large, please contact us to make arrangement’s and get the event set up. Our goal is to insure our employees are happy and that all our customers feel like a member of our family.

Base Outfitters owners consist of two couples. The parents are Micah and Lisa Uptegrove, along with their son and his wife, Micah Tyler and Sarah. Micah Sr holds a master’s degree in Administration and has taught High School and coached sports for many years. He has also owned and managed his construction company for the past 32 years. Lisa is a mom of 5 adult children and works from home running the construction company. Micah and Lisa have had rental property for about 12 years. They have been hands-on managers and have recently added an apartment complex with Tyler and Sarah. Micah Tyler holds a degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Missouri and worked as a patent attorney in St. Louis for a few years before moving back to mid-Missouri to manage the family businesses. His wife Sarah has an agriculture degree from the University of Missouri and now stays home raising their 4 children and helping with the businesses when she can. With this four-person team, they have managed to bring a 30-year-old apartment complex back to the high standard they expect out of all their business ventures. By bringing on an amazing team, they have established a business that no longer requires their full attention. Over the past two years, they have been developing the design of a gun store and range to be located on the same land as the majority of the rental property. They have added range manager and longtime friend, Army veteran John Cannon, to this team for this new venture. Since his retirement as a military police officer, he has worked as a high school safety resource officer and part-time as a local police officer. John is the Range Manager and chief Range Safety Officer. While in the military, one of his jobs was to manage one of the shooting ranges for the Army. Base Outfitters feels very fortunate to have John as our right-hand man when it comes to range management. You can read his full bio here. In addition to the gun store, Micah and Lisa’s daughters created a section for women’s boutique items where they all play a part in making that successful, so this is truly a family business.
